Grand France Day Ten – Lyon

Aujourd’hui, nous sommes dans la merveilleuse ville de Lyon. Sorry, my French is so good now it’s practically a second language (oh OK, I admit it, I used Google translate).   Lyon is magnificent.  There is more than 2000 years of history right here!  It’s hard to comprehend really.  Roman ruins,  the most beautiful Basilica (glad we didn’t have to hike up THAT hill!), sits on top of a mountain.  There are television receivers on top of the replica Eiffle Tower and, get this, mobile phone antennas on top of the crosses on the Basilicas (apparently a very efficient way to raise revenue to maintain the Church).

A local chef joins the wonderful kitchen team with a beautiful dinner followed by a performance of quintessential French music – La Vie en Rose.
